Update: July 7 – 5.0 magnitude earthquake registered near Reykjanes Ridge

A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Reykjanes Ridge on Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 05:00 UTC (03:00 local time). The epicenter was of Reykjanes Ridge, at a depth of 10 km.

Tremors past week

Last week, there have been five tremors of magnitude 2.5 or above centered nearby. The biggest, a 5.0 magnitude quake, was reported in the same area on Jul. 4.
