A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Catia La Mar on Wednesday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor, which hit the area at 22:54 UTC (18:54 local time), was centered approximately 31 km north-northeast of Catia La Mar. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
