A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to South Sandwich Islands region on Tuesday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which hit the area at 00:15 UTC (22:15 local time), was centered of South Sandwich Islands region. It occurred at a depth of 35 km.
