HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA — A 5.1 magnitude quake jolted close to Petrolia on Wednesday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
At 12:45 p.m. (4:45 a.m. local time), a tremor shook the region at a depth of 6 miles, with its epicenter roughly 39 miles west of Petrolia. Seismologists first reported it as a 4.8 event, but later upgraded it to 5.1.
