Update: Earthquake strikes region near Bouvet Island region on May 18 – 5.3 magnitude recorded

A 5.3 magnitude quake occurred close to Bouvet Island region on Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which hit the area at 18:50 UTC (18:50 local time), was centered of Bouvet Island region. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
