A 5.4 magnitude quake jolted near Ternate on Wednesday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

A tremor shook the region at 23:07 UTC (08:07 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was approximately 119 km west-northwest of Ternate and occurred at a depth of 35 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.5 but later downgraded to 5.4.
