The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.0 magnitude quake jolted close to Lospalos Monday morning.

The tremor struck the region at 17:40 UTC (02:40 local time). It occurred at a depth of 140 km with the epicenter situated about 131 km northeast of Lospalos. Seismologists first reported it as a 4.9 event, but later upgraded it to 5.0.
