Update: 5.3 magnitude earthquake hits near Attu Station, AK on March 3

ALEUTIANS WEST CENSUS AREA, AK — A 5.3 magnitude quake struck near Attu Station on Tuesday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 10:44 a.m. (10:44 p.m. local time). The epicenter was approximately 142 miles east-southeast of Attu Station, at a depth of 6 miles.
