According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.5 magnitude quake occurred near Tobelo Saturday night.

At 15:06 UTC (23:06 local time), the area was hit by a tremor. The earthquake jolted at a depth of 57 km, with its epicenter approximately 241 km north-northwest of Tobelo.
