Update: Earthquake of 5.2 magnitude detected close to Isangel, Vanuatu on Dec. 18

WEST TANNA, Tafea Province — A 5.2 magnitude quake was registered near Isangel around midday Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 01:59 UTC (12:59 local time), the region was shaken by a tremor. The earthquake jolted at a depth of 61 km, with its epicenter roughly 91 km south of Isangel.
