According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.1 magnitude quake jolted close to Vilyuchinsk on Tuesday around midday.

The tremor shook the area at 23:37 UTC (11:37 local time). It occurred at a depth of 72 km with the epicenter located about 58 km southeast of Vilyuchinsk.
