5.1 magnitude earthquake recorded near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on Sept. 22

A 5.1 magnitude quake was detected close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck the area at 16:29 UTC (03:29 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter located roughly 166 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
