Earthquake of magnitude 5.0 reported near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on Sept. 20

At midday on Saturday, a 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which jolted the area at 01:29 UTC (12:29 local time), was centered about 164 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
