NAITASIRI, Central Division — Sunday evening, a 5.5 magnitude quake was registered near the Fiji Islands, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit the region at 08:53 UTC (20:53 local time). It occurred at a depth of 574 km with the epicenter situated south of the Fiji Islands.
