NIUATOPUTAPU, Niuas — A 5.1 magnitude quake was registered near Hihifo Friday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which shook the area at 06:32 UTC (18:32 local time), was centered roughly 100 km north-northeast of Hihifo. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
