The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.3 magnitude quake occurred near Severo-Kuril’sk Friday morning.
The tremor, which jolted the region at 18:23 UTC (05:23 local time), was centered approximately 193 km east of Severo-Kuril’sk. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
