5.2 magnitude earthquake jolts close to Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia on Aug. 1

Friday morning, a 5.2 magnitude quake was recorded close to Severo-Kuril’sk, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor shook the area at 18:55 UTC (05:55 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated approximately 215 km east-southeast of Severo-Kuril’sk and occurred at a depth of 10 km.
