At midday on Wednesday, a 5.2 magnitude quake was detected near Vilyuchinsk, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit the area at 00:15 UTC (11:15 local time). It occurred at a depth of 35 km with the epicenter located roughly 126 km southeast of Vilyuchinsk.
