Update: July 31 – 5.6 magnitude earthquake reported close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.6 magnitude quake occurred close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Thursday afternoon.

It was reported that a tremor shook the region at 05:31 UTC (16:31 local time). The epicenter was located approximately 140 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, at a depth of 48 km.
