RINCONADA DEPARTMENT, Jujuy Province — A 5.0 magnitude quake was detected close to Abra Pampa Sunday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor hit at 19:09 UTC (16:09 local time), with its epicenter situated approximately 63 km west of Abra Pampa and a depth of 242 km.
