Update: Aug. 13 – 5.0 magnitude earthquake registered near Puerto Santa, Peru

SANTA, Ancash — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake rattled close to Puerto Santa Wednesday evening.

It was reported that a tremor struck the region at 00:54 UTC (19:54 local time). The epicenter was situated about 36 km west of Puerto Santa, at a depth of 68 km.
