Update: Aug. 10 – 5.0 magnitude earthquake reported close to Ozernovskiy, Russia

A 5.0 magnitude quake was detected close to Ozernovskiy Sunday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 11:19 UTC (23:19 local time), the region was jolted by a tremor. The earthquake struck at a depth of 75 km, with its epicenter about 69 km east-southeast of Ozernovskiy. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.3 event, but later downgraded it to 5.0.
