Update: Aug. 5 – 5.1 magnitude earthquake detected near Massy, Kyrgyzstan

NOOKEN, Jalal-Abad Region — A 5.1 magnitude quake was registered close to Massy Tuesday evening, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor shook the area at 13:44 UTC (19:44 local time). It occurred at a depth of 15 km with the epicenter located roughly 34 km north of Massy.
