Update: 5.1 magnitude earthquake strikes close to Ozernovskiy, Russia on Aug. 1

A 5.1 magnitude quake was detected close to Ozernovskiy on Friday around midday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor hit the area at 02:48 UTC (13:48 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was located about 139 km east-southeast of Ozernovskiy and occurred at a depth of 35 km.
