A 5.1 magnitude quake was detected close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at midday on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor struck the area at 02:53 UTC (13:53 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated about 207 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and occurred at a depth of 10 km.
