Seismic activity on July 26: Earthquake close to Macquarie Island region registered – magnitude 6.6

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 6.6 magnitude quake occurred near Macquarie Island region Saturday morning.

It was reported that a tremor struck the region at 16:15 UTC (03:15 local time). The epicenter was located near Macquarie Island region, at a depth of 10 km.
