July 20: Earthquake measuring 5.5 strikes region near Basco, Philippines

At midday on Sunday, a 5.5 magnitude quake was detected near Basco, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted the area at 05:45 UTC (13:45 local time). It occurred at a depth of 40 km with the epicenter situated about 98 km south-southwest of Basco.
