ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—A 7.2 magnitude quake was reported close to Sand Point Wednesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
At 8:37 p.m. (9:37 a.m. local time), the region was shaken by a tremor. The earthquake slammed at a depth of 12 miles, with its epicenter about 54 miles south of Sand Point.

You can let the USGS know if you felt the tremor by filling out their Felt Report form. The agency has so far received 17 reports via its online form from people who report they felt the earthquake. Weak to light shaking has been recorded and people reported feeling the earthquake in multiple cities, including Eagle River, Anchorage and Unalaska according to the USGS DYFI report.
