Update: 5.0 magnitude earthquake detected close to central Mid-Atlantic Ridge on June 20

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.0 magnitude quake shook close to central Mid-Atlantic Ridge Friday morning.

At 11:42 UTC (09:42 local time), the region was hit by a tremor. The earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter near central Mid-Atlantic Ridge.
