Update: 5.2 magnitude earthquake reported close to San José, Spain on July 14

ALMERÍA, AN — Monday morning, a 5.2 magnitude quake was recorded near San José, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which jolted the area at 05:13 UTC (07:13 local time), was centered roughly 21 km southeast of San José. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.

Moderate shaking has been registered and residents reported feeling the tremor in a number of cities, including San Miguel de Salinas, El Ejido, Vera, Cuevas del Almanzora and Mojácar according to the USGS DYFI report.
