Update: Earthquake measuring 2.7 shakes area near Olancha, CA on July 13

INYO COUNTY, CA — A 2.7 magnitude quake was detected close to Olancha Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor rattled at 8:45 a.m., with its epicenter located about 7 miles south of Olancha and a depth of just 1 mile.

Olancha shaken twice past week

Over the last week, in the same region experienced two tremors exceeding magnitude 2.5. Both had a magnitude of 4.0, with one jolting prior to this quake and the other on July 13.
