Update: Earthquake strikes region close to Olancha, CA on July 13 – 4.0 magnitude reported

INYO COUNTY, CA — Sunday morning, a 4.0 magnitude quake was recorded close to Olancha, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which rattled the area at 5:27 a.m., was centered roughly 7 miles south-southwest of Olancha. It occurred at a depth of just 1 mile.

The USGS DYFI report shows that residents in a few cities, including Tulare and Lone Pine, experienced weak to light shaking from the tremor.
