MEXICALI, B.C. — A preliminary 2.1 magnitude quake was registered close to Progreso, B.C. Friday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook the region at 15:36 UTC. It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated roughly 9 km west-southwest of Progreso, B.C.
