MEXICALI, B.C. — the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a preliminary 2.2 magnitude quake shook close to Progreso, B.C. Friday afternoon.

It was reported that a tremor struck the region at 15:36 UTC. The epicenter was situated about 9 km west-southwest of Progreso, B.C., at a depth of 10 km.
