MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA — Friday afternoon, a preliminary 2.0 magnitude quake was recorded close to Redwood Valley, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook at 3:10 p.m., with its epicenter positioned about 5 miles northwest of Redwood Valley and a depth of just 1 mile.

Last week, the area experienced two tremors above magnitude 2.5, both measuring 2.9. One was centered close to Cobb prior to this quake, and the other was felt near Lake Pillsbury on July 6.
