EASTER ISLAND, Valparaíso — A 5.5 magnitude quake occurred southeast of Easter Island on Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted at 11:41 UTC (05:41 local time), with its epicenter southeast of Easter Island of southeast of Easter Island and a depth of 10 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.6 but later downgraded to 5.5.
