Update: Earthquake shakes region near Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia on July 30 – 5.2 magnitude reported

A 5.2 magnitude quake was recorded close to Severo-Kuril’sk Wednesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor struck the area at 00:01 UTC (10:01 local time). The epicenter was located roughly 97 km east-southeast of Severo-Kuril’sk, at a depth of 35 km.
