The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Ozernovskiy Monday morning.
The tremor, which hit the region at 21:06 UTC (08:06 local time), was centered approximately 138 km east-southeast of Ozernovskiy. It occurred at a depth of 35 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 4.7 event, but later upgraded it to 5.0.
