5.2 magnitude earthquake registered close to Kainantu, Papua New Guinea on Sept. 14

MARKHAM DISTRICT, Morobe Province — A 5.2 magnitude quake occurred close to Kainantu on Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck the area at 22:06 UTC (08:06 local time). It occurred at a depth of 125 km with the epicenter roughly 66 km east of Kainantu.
