Update: Seismic activity on Oct. 5 – 5.2 magnitude earthquake close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia recorded

YELIZOVSKY DISTRICT, Kamchatka Krai — A 5.2 magnitude quake was detected near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Sunday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which hit the area at 05:53 UTC (17:53 local time), was centered approximately 93 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It occurred at a depth of 64 km.
