According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake occurred close to Tobelo at midnight on Tuesday.

It was reported that a tremor struck the region at 15:58 UTC (00:58 local time). The epicenter was situated roughly 120 km west of Tobelo, at a depth of 66 km.
