Update: Earthquake jolts region near Mid-Atlantic Ridge on Dec. 16 – 5.1 magnitude registered

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.1 magnitude quake occurred near Mid-Atlantic Ridge at midday on Tuesday.

A tremor struck the area at 13:44 UTC (12:44 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was located south of Mid-Atlantic Ridge and occurred at a depth of 10 km.
