The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.0 magnitude quake rattled close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Friday morning.

The tremor jolted the area at 18:51 UTC (05:51 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated roughly 169 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
