A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Ende on Saturday around midday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 05:45 UTC (13:45 local time), a tremor struck the region at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter roughly 66 km northwest of Ende.

14 quakes with a magnitude 2.5 or greater have been detected in the area over the last week, two of them larger than magnitude 6.1. The most significant was a 7.8 magnitude earthquake registered in the same region on Aug. 15.
