Update: Earthquake measuring 5.0 hits area southeast of Easter Island on Feb. 20

EASTER ISLAND, Valparaíso — A 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded southeast of Easter Island Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor rattled the region at 07:21 UTC (01:21 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated southeast of Easter Island of southeast of Easter Island.
