Update: 5.0 magnitude earthquake recorded near Kokopo, Papua New Guinea on May 25

A 5.0 magnitude quake rattled close to Kokopo on Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted the area at 15:00 UTC (01:00 local time). It occurred at a depth of 56 km with the epicenter approximately 114 km east-southeast of Kokopo.
