5.0 magnitude earthquake recorded near Cafayate, Argentina on Sept. 9

SAN CARLOS, Salta Province — A 5.0 magnitude quake struck close to Cafayate on Wednesday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor jolted the area at 10:06 UTC (07:06 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter approximately 53 km west of Cafayate.
