Update: Earthquake hits region near Bitung, Indonesia on April 18 – 5.0 magnitude reported

A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Bitung on Saturday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck the area at 11:04 UTC (20:04 local time). It occurred at a depth of 35 km with the epicenter about 140 km south-southeast of Bitung.
