Update: Jan. 19 – 5.0 magnitude earthquake detected near Curup, Indonesia

SAROLANGUN REGENCY, Jambi — A 5.0 magnitude quake was reported close to Curup Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck the area at 11:02 UTC (18:02 local time). It occurred at a depth of 167 km with the epicenter situated roughly 104 km north-northwest of Curup.
