Update: Seismic activity on Nov. 26 – 5.0 magnitude earthquake close to Shiranuka, Japan recorded

SHIRANUKA DISTRICT, Hokkaido — Wednesday morning, a 5.0 magnitude quake was reported near Shiranuka, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor rattled at 16:43 UTC (02:43 local time), with its epicenter situated roughly 57 km south-southeast of Shiranuka and a depth of 92 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 4.9 event, but later upgraded it to 5.0.
